The United Way holds fundraisers and takes donations and invests them into worthy causes and programs. The United Way gives money to programs that create job opportunities and helps those in need earn the skill they will need to get jobs. They fund and collaborate with other agencies to help families save for life-changing assets like tuition, dental work, and computers. It also holds events like the Edge of Poverty simulations so that people can learn what it is like for people in these situations, as well as launching a program in 2015 with the goal of ending homelessness in Winnipeg.
